Christmas wishes come true

What a pleasant surprise to receive a request from a dear friend who wanted to give her mother a unique gift! It is definitely not hard to style a woman who has such beautiful features on her own, but we are so glad she likes her custom necklace.

Pop-Up Shops are Totally IN!

There is no better way to get in the spirit of holiday shopping than by spending an evening with friends shopping for the perfect gifts. This event was particularly cool because the popular furniture store Room and Board offered up its interiors for each designer to display the goods.

As a holiday treat we introduced a new way to wear our necklaces with satin ribbon. This is super easy to do and adds a fun twist to the traditional look. Think about sprucing up a shiny black agate necklace with a hot pink ribbon for your holiday party:)

We teamed with shopify.com to create an online presence that cant be missed... and we LOVE it! When shopping for your favorite necklace(s) you can also choose which clasp you want to go with it (diamond studded or plain silver).

Our suggestion is that everyone start with 2 clasps because that is what you need to put 2 necklaces together. You also need 2 clasps to wear a centerpiece. As you buy more necklaces, you dont have to purchase more clasps, unless of course you want to connect 3 necklaces together to make a long style that can be draped around your neck.

Fashion for football

One thing I've learned about the south is that college football is a lifestyle, and I happen to be in UGA (University of Georgia) territory. So on game days the girls get out their red and black and make way to the stadium to cheer on the Dawgs. Two of the prettiest UGA fans happen to also be huge Oka Designs fans:)

PEARLS for a fall wedding!

What a treat to style these BEAUTIFUL bridesmaids for the classy wedding of Chanel and Jan van Reenen. They had a September wedding with maids in long black gowns holding calla lilies. It was only appropriate to accessorize these ladies with stunning pearls in different varieties to enhance each ones individual style.

I dont know what could have been more timeless than that:)

Live Music and Jewelry Too!

Another hot day in Georgia. Yesterday we set-up a booth at the Wing and Rock festival in Woodstock, GA. You can see we made some changes to the decorations by adding some fresh cut flowers and a nice scented candle. I truly believe it's "the little things" that make all the difference!Even though it was extremely hot (about 95 degrees) everyone enjoyed the day and enjoyed shopping in the nice shaded tent. The little fan also helped by creating a bit of movement in the air... I conveniently stationed myself in front of it for most of the day:)

Before we even launched the brand, we had the opportunity to shoot some wonderful photos on a beach in St. John. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is a better backdrop than crystal clear water, white sand, and mountains in the background.

This piece was designed to accentuate the beautiful dresses of ALAKE for the Fall 11/Winter 12 runway show held in February. Im proud to say that this beauty was worn with the final look, strutting down the runway with a subtle shimmer.

Behind the name

Oka in Japanese, translates to "hill". And it is this simple world that started the started the whole jewelry collection of Oka Designs. Read the bio for the whole story...
